Dr Denise Lamothe PsyD, HHD

Dr. Denise works with organizations that encourage wellness in order to have happier, healthier and more productive people. She has emerged from the adversities of being a homeless college drop-out, surviving multiple eating disorders and single-parenting three children to creating success as a Clinical Psychologist, Doctor of Holistic Health, author and national speaker.

She speaks from experience! She has spent her career encouraging people to make wellness a priority in their lives. An expert in her field, she is the "go to" person for anyone seeking to develop a healthier lifestyle. She now devotes all of her time to spreading this important message.

Dr. Denise shares her secrets of success and empowers others to forge their own path to a positive self-image, high level of self-respect and to optimal health. She educates, entertains and identifies with her audience members while gently, but firmly assisting them to take charge of their situations, make physical, emotional, social, environmental, attitudinal and spiritual adjustments to live more joyfully and productively --no longer restricted by ill health, failures, guilt, sadness and fear. This open communication process spawns a phenomenon unique to Dr. Denise. People connect easily with her and are drawn into her message.

Denise Lamothe is the author of the popular book, The Taming of the Chew: A Holistic Guide to Stopping Compulsive Eating (Penguin 2002). She has been noted in many publications, including "0" the Oprah Magazine, has appeared widely on television and radio and has spoken across the country and in Canada. Dr. Denise skillfully weaves together stories drawn from over 20 years of professional practice with timely personal and playful vignettes.

  • " I have had a lot of positive feedback from the evening. Especially gratifying were the comments from one of my pre-operative patients, who expressed never having felt understood before, and after reading your book and listening to your presentation, feels hope for the future in regards to her eating habits. Many thanks! "
